So basically if the character’s a guy, is an extreme sweetheart/qtpie/gentle person, and has a terrible backstory he’s gonna automatically be my favorite.

OH GOD MY FEELS—
Can’t have Will without Jem.
Jem is nothing but goodness.
Just drooled a little.
Ooh, ouch! Jem is going up against Gale! That’s tough competition. Well, vote for him if you’re feeling the love. Below at TMI source the great post from Jem’s advocate at the Tourney.
Regardless of how it goes, a tiny Jem snippet from Clockwork Princess.
“Wo wei ni xie de,” he said, as he raised the violin to his left shoulder, tucking it under his chin. He had told her many violinists used a shoulder rest, but he did not: there was a slight mark on the side of his throat, like a permanent bruise, where the violin rested.

The first round of YA Sisterhood’s 2nd annual YA Crush Tourney continues today (Friday, July 13) with our Jem Carstairs, the No. 5 seed, going up against No. 28 seed Gale from The Hunger Games.
Time for Shadowhunters, Downworlders and Mundanes to unite and get Jem into the Superior Sixteen.
I can’t see why anybody wouldn’t vote for Jem! His character development is over nine thousand times better than Gale’s. Plus, he’s such a sweetie, caring towards everybody. c:
